Executive Management Team
The Optimal Solutions Management team is comprised of some of the most experienced CFD-based shape optimization personnel and sales and marketing professionals in the business. Since 1990, the research team has expended thousands of man-hours in designing and refining the Sculptor software program to its present form.
The company's current management team has over 62 years of experience in computer-aided geometry-related work, computer graphics, numerical methods, finite element and finite volume codes; 23 years in running a profitable business; and 53 years in sales, marketing, and technology commercialization. The result is a combined 138 years of experience. A synopsis of the management team follows: Phil Belnap, Mark Landon, John Jenkins, and Larry Kellog.
Phil Belnap
Phil Belnap is the President of Optimal Solutions Software, LLC. Phil has extensive experience in sales and marketing with various businesses, primarily in the heavy equipment and agricultural sectors. He has assisted several companies to make significant changes in the the way they did business which resulted in more than doubling sales. He has also been involved in the creation of a startup company based on a technology he conceived and patented.
Mark Landon, PhD.
Dr. Landon is the CTO of Optimal Solutions Software, LLC, and is one of the founding members of the Company. Mark started his career as an engineer for Rockwell International, Rocketdyne Division (now Pratt & Whitney), in 1982, where he was responsible for the structural integrity of space shuttle main engine components.
Since then, he has worked for U. S. Department of Defense and Department of Energy contractors gaining over 22 years of experience in engineering design where he has utilized and/or created computer-aided geometry, computer graphics, numerical methods, FEA and CFD codes. Dr. Landon holds a Ph.D. from Brigham Young University in Engineering and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.
John Jenkins
John brings twenty years of experience to the team and is the company's Director of Marketing & Sales. Mr. Jenkins took his first position after graduating from Brigham Young University at General Electric Steam Turbine Generator Division’s Interactive Graphics Group in Boston, Massachusetts. Then on to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, first as CIM Laboratory Manager at Lehigh University; then, to Regional Business Development Manager for the Ben Franklin Technology partners.
With a Design Engineering degree from Brigham Young University, John adds important CAD/CAM/CAE education and experience to the team.
Larry Kellogg
Larry is the company's Director of Research and Development. He was the first employee hired when the company was formed and has been involved in the development of Sculptor from the beginning. He started his career as a Software Test Engineer at Novell in 1997. Larry received his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Utah Valley University.
